
To Prospective Scholarship Applicants
On behalf of Philip Morris USA (PM USA) and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), we are pleased to announce the 2006 - 2007 PM USA Scholarship Fund. This fund will provide scholarships to 17 juniors or seniors currently attending; Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T, Winston-Salem State, Howard University, Virginia State or Norfolk State Universities. In keeping with the philanthropic goals of PM USA, only students with demonstrated financial need and the potential for success will be accepted.
The PM USA scholarship and application process is very competitive. Students selected will receive a 1 year scholarship from Philip Morris USA. In addition, scholars will have an opportunity to apply for paid summer internships at Philip Morris USA between their junior and senior year.
Scholarship Award
- Up to $5,000 depending upon TMCF member institution and in-state and out-of-state tuition status.
- Second semester eligibility contingent upon maintaining full-time status; consistent progress toward degree; a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, good citizenship and conduct; and a declared major as noted under eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements
- U. S. citizen and current full-time sophomore attending Florida A&M; North Carolina A&T; Winston-Salem State; Howard University; Virginia State or Norfolk State Universities;
- Have demonstrated financial need, with Pell grant eligibility;
- 3.5 cumulative grade point average;
- Interest in applying for an internship with Philip Morris USA;
- Have declared a major in one of the following disciplines: Accounting, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Physics.

Information provided will be kept confidential and only shared with key sponsors from PM USA, TMCF and the TMCF College Coordinators in charge of selecting scholarship recipients.
