Overview
Scholarships will only be awarded per semester based on available funding. Thurgood Marshall College Fund scholarships are not awarded directly to students. Scholarships are awarded to the student via the member college or university to which the student has been accepted.
Students interested in applying for a TMCF Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- A citizen of the United States of America
- Full-time student pursuing a degree in any discipline at one of the 47 TMCF "member schools"
- Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and community service with a high school GPA of not less than 3.0; a
- combined verbal/math score of 1650 or more on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or a score of 25 or higher on the American College Testing (ACT) examination
- Recommended by their high school as academically exceptional or outstanding in the creative and performing arts
- Demonstrated financial need and maintain not less than 3.0 GPA each year for the duration of the scholarship
Potential applicants should note that TMCF scholarships:
- Are merit-based
- Are awarded to students with a demonstrated financial need
- May be awarded to any class student, not just incoming freshmen
- May be renewable but renewal is not guaranteed
- Are restricted to payment of tuition, room and board, books and fees
- Average approximately $2200 per student per semester
- Are awarded through the member schools, not directly to students from TMCF - Students interested in a TMCF scholarship should contact a scholarship coordinator at any member college or university and apply through the school - Member schools select candidates and contact TMCF to administer the funding

How to Apply:
- All applicants must be enrolled or accepted (or plan to enroll) at one of the 47 TMCF member schools.
- Applications are available from the TMCF Scholarship Coordinator on campus
- Completed applications must be submitted along with the required attachments to the Scholarship Coordinator on campus (see list of application forms and required attachments below)
- Applicants should consult their schools concerning the selection process
- Campus Scholarship Coordinator must re-certify the award recipients to renew the award each semester.

Other Scholarship Opportunities and Financial Aid
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund has a variety of scholarship opportunities available. Some support different schools or specific areas of interest. All TMCF Scholarships are awarded through the 47 member schools. Students interested in a TMCF scholarship should contact a scholarship coordinator at any member college or university and apply through the school.

The Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Intellectual Property Law School Scholarship
Sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Education Foundation, this scholarship addresses the need to increase the number of the minority intellectual property attorneys and to bring these attorneys to the attention of firms and corporations as candidates for employment. The $10,000 Law Scholarship will be awarded to minority students developing a career in intellectual property law or holding a past or present, full or part-time position in an area related to intellectual property law. Applicants must also have a demonstrated financial need and outstanding academic performance in the undergraduate level and law school level (if applicable).

NEW HORIZONS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund have partnered with support from the Roche Foundation to help African American and Hispanic Families affected by HCV to realize their dreams. These three partners have establish a scholarship program to assists qualified applicants attain their dreams of a college education.
